When heading out on a hunt, ensuring you have the correct gear is essential for a successful and enjoyable experience. The right equipment not only enhances your comfort but also increases your chances of a successful hunt. From selecting the appropriate clothing to choosing the right firearm or bow, each piece of gear plays a crucial role. Investing time in understanding your needs and testing different options will help break the habit of using incorrect gear and elevate your hunting experience to new heights.

Gear list for all hunts

  • Warm coat (preferably wool type)

  • Light coat

  • 1 pair of warm waterproof gloves

  • Stocking hat- Blaze orange

  • Ball cap or other

  • Wool socks for hunting

  • Cotton socks for camp

  • 2 complete change of clothes

  • Long insulated underwear

  • Good quality waterproof PRE-BROKE in boots

  • Rain gear (quieter the better)

  • Toiletries (towels, soap, toothpaste, etc)

  • Warm sleeping bag

  • Pillow

  • Sleeping pad (if this is for a drop camp)

  • Rifle & ammo/ bow & arrows

  • Hunting license and tags

  • Binoculars

  • Spotting scope & tripod (if available)

  • Compass

  • Watch

  • Matches/lighters

  • Sharp knives

  • Camera & film/SD card

  • Medication if needed

  • Face net/paint (turkey hunting and archery only)

  • Rangefinder with extra battery

  • 2-way radio

  • Personal snacks

  • Backpack

  • Game bags

  • Tree stand safety harness (if hunting out of tree stand)

  • Headlamp with red light.
